Why I Built LocAite

A Customer. A Business Owner. The Same Frustration.

I drove 40 minutes one way for an item that showed "in stock".

It wasn't.

Drove to another location.

Also not in stock.

Another day, I drove 20 minutes to a store that said it was open.

The lights were off.

That's when I realized: Local businesses aren't the problem. The information around them are.

Listings don't reflect reality.
Hours lag.
Inventory lies.
Ads rank higher than accuracy.

After enough wasted trips, people stop trying.

They default to certainty. Default to delivery from warehouses.

LocAite started with one belief: You shouldn't have to gamble to support local. You should be able to see what's actually ready, before you get in the car.

Make readiness visible.
Restore signal.
Let real local businesses compete on reality again.

Business Owner Experience

I once woke up to find my business profile had changed overnight.

Hours were different.
Categories were adjusted.
Information modified.
Reviews gone.

I didn't approve it.
I wasn't notified.
I wasn't asked.

Customers were confused. Assumed we were closed.

Nothing about my business had changed.

But google decided something had.

That's when I understood something uncomfortable: If your visibility lives on someone else's platform, it isn't really yours.

Years of work.
Reputation built carefully.
Community trust earned slowly.

All dependent on a system you don't control.

That experience didn't make me angry.

It made something clear.

Local businesses deserve visibility that reflects reality, not platform revisions.

And they deserve a system where readiness, not policy shifts, determines what people see.

The System Drifted

Local businesses didn't disappear. They were buried. Buried under ads, algorithms, and systems that reward performance over presence.

Search became pay to play. Visibility became rented. Trust became stars and noise.

Not Another Platform

LocAite is not a directory. Not a marketplace. Not a review engine.

It is an access layer. A real-time signal for local life. Instead of ranking businesses by ad spend, we surface who is actually ready.

Structural Shift

The local web trained businesses to:

Chase ratings, buy credibility, compete with warehouses, and perform for algorithms. That model extracts and weakens communities.

LocAite is built differently!

Why It Matters

Local businesses are not ad inventory. They are infrastructure. They keep neighborhoods functioning, they sponsor teams, hire locally, and create chracter.

Communities don't need more platforms, they need signal.

Built for the Long Game

LocAite is designed as infrastructure.

Real-time readiness, trust-weighted visibility, map-based clarity, and community relay support.

Market by market to store alignment between people and place.

The Belief

Technology should not replace local life. It should support it, reduce friction, reduce guesswork, and reduce manipulation.

It should make reality easier to see.

Josh Wooley- CEH & Founder

Josh is an accomplished entrepreneur with deep roots in the event rental and local services industries. Years of building and growing a successful event rental business gave him first-hand insight into how local businesses struggle to get discovered, stay visible, and connect with customers at the right moment.

Seeing how technology could transform those challenges into opportunities, Josh shifted his focus toward artificial intelligence and OS for Local Life. He founded LocAite to put local life back in the hands of communities, creating a direct connection between neighbors and businesses, exactly where real-world choices happen.

Under Josh’s leadership, LocAite will grow into a next-generation local infrastructure, empowering businesses of all kinds to connect, engage, and win customers in real time. While his background began in event rentals, his vision expanded far beyond one industry, creating a system that supports restaurants, services, venues, retailers, and local experiences alike.

Josh is known for combining hands-on business experience with intuitive, forward-thinking problem solving. He has played a central role in shaping LocAite’s operating system for local life, which uses location, activity, and community engagement to surface the right businesses at the right time, creating a more human, more useful local experience.

His journey from operating a local business to creating the access layer for local life reflects his conviction that thriving communities and intelligent technology should work hand in hand. Today, Josh continues to lead LocAite with a focus on innovation, simplicity, and helping local economies grow from the inside out.
